Files you upload to WhiskFile are processed on our servers solely to perform the requested operation (compress, merge, convert, etc.). We do not read, analyse, or retain your file content for any purpose other than completing the task you requested.

• Automatic deletion: All uploaded and processed files are permanently deleted from our servers within 1 hour of upload, regardless of whether you download the result.
• No training use: Your files are never used to train machine learning models, AI systems, or any other purpose.
• No file sharing: Your files are never shared with third parties, sold, or transferred.
• Encryption in transit: All file transfers use HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Without an account (anonymous use): We collect a session identifier (stored as a browser cookie) to enforce usage limits. We also log standard web server information: the time of request, the tool used, and the file size processed (not the file content). We do not collect your IP address for analytics purposes.

With an account: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive only the profile information you authorize those providers to share (typically name, email, and profile photo). We do not receive passwords for OAuth sign-ins.

Billing information: Payment processing is handled by our payment partner Cashfree Payments. We never see or store your full card number, UPI PIN, or bank login credentials. We receive a customer ID and subscription/payment status from the relevant gateway for plan management purposes.

We use Plausible Analytics (self-hosted on our servers) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which tools are used, which pages are visited, and where visitors come from. Plausible is privacy-first: it collects no personal data, uses no cookies, and is fully GDPR-compliant. We do not use Google Analytics.

We use cookies only for:

• Session management: A secure, HTTP-only cookie to keep you signed in if you have an account.
• Anonymous rate limiting: A cookie to count your free-tier usage across page loads without requiring an account.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. Plausible Analytics is cookieless.

We share your data only with:

• Cashfree Payments: For payment processing (credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, wallets). Cashfree is PCI-DSS compliant and RBI-regulated.
• Google / Facebook: Only when you choose to sign in via OAuth. We receive only the profile data you authorize.
• Resend: Our transactional email provider, used only to send authentication and billing emails you request.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.

• Files: Auto-deleted within 1 hour of upload.
• Job records: Metadata (tool used, file size, timestamp) is kept for 30 days for free accounts and 90 days for Pro/Teams accounts.
• Account data: Kept until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
• Billing records: Kept for 7 years as required by financial regulations.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict processing in certain circumstances

To exercise any of these rights, email support@whiskfile.com. We will respond within 30 days.

WhiskFile is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy periodically. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
