No. WhiskFile uses vector-preserving resize (pdf-lib embedPage) — text, shapes, and fonts are embedded as vector objects, not rasterized to images. Text stays sharp at any zoom level and remains selectable/searchable.
Scale to Fit proportionally scales the content to fill the new page size — the content may appear larger or smaller. Center keeps the original content at its exact size and places it in the middle of the new page, adding white space around it if the page is larger.
Yes. Choose the same page size as your original, switch to Center mode, and add margins. This effectively increases the page size by the margin amounts while keeping your content centered.
16 presets: A0 through A6, B4, B5, Letter, Legal, Tabloid, Ledger, Executive, and Half Letter. You can also enter any custom width and height in millimeters, centimeters, or inches.
Auto matches each page's original orientation. If a page is landscape (wider than tall), the target size is applied in landscape. If portrait (taller than wide), it's applied in portrait. This is useful for PDFs with mixed page orientations.
Resize changes the paper size of the page (scaling content or adding white space). Crop trims the visible area by cutting off edges. Use Resize to change paper format, and Crop to remove unwanted borders.
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF never leaves your device — there's nothing to upload, and no privacy risk.
Click the unit toggle (mm / cm / in) at the top of the settings panel. All dimensions — page size and margins — automatically convert to the new unit.
Yes. Select 'Letter' from the US size presets and choose Scale to Fit to proportionally adjust the content. The tool handles the slight dimension difference (A4 is 210 x 297 mm, Letter is 8.5 x 11 in / 215.9 x 279.4 mm) automatically.
Upload your PDF with mixed page sizes, select your target size (e.g., A4), and set orientation to Auto. Every page is resized to the target dimensions while preserving its original orientation (portrait or landscape).
Yes. Choose the paper size your printer uses (typically A4 or Letter), select Scale to Fit to ensure all content fits within the printable area, and optionally add margins for binding or hole-punching.
Forms, annotations, and interactive elements are preserved as part of the embedded page content. The tool uses pdf-lib's embedPage which captures the entire page as a vector form XObject.
