You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using WhiskFile, you represent that you meet this requirement.

You may use the Service for lawful personal and business purposes. Free accounts are for individual use only — for team use, see the Teams plan.

You agree not to use WhiskFile to:

• Upload files you do not have the right to process (copyright infringement, unauthorized distribution)
• Upload malware, viruses, or files designed to compromise security
• Attempt to exceed plan limits through technical means (automated scripts, proxies, account cycling)
• Use the Service to process illegal content or facilitate illegal activity
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service at scale
• Use the API in ways that violate the documented rate limits and fair-use policy

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

You retain full ownership of all files you upload. By uploading a file, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process it for the sole purpose of completing your requested operation. This license expires when the file is deleted (within 1 hour).

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any file you upload. We are not responsible for copyright infringement or unauthorized processing caused by your uploads.

Free plan features and limits are described on the pricing page and may change with reasonable notice.

Paid plans (Pro and Teams) are billed monthly or annually. Payments are processed securely via Cashfree Payments. Supported methods include credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and wallets where available. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your billing dashboard.

Prices may be displayed in USD, INR, or other supported currencies depending on your region. Prices are subject to change. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect for existing subscribers.

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time from your billing dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until that date.

Refunds may be issued under the following circumstances:

• Accidental duplicate payment — full refund within 7 days of the charge
• Service unavailability exceeding 48 continuous hours — prorated refund for the affected period
• Charge after cancellation due to a processing error — full refund

Refund requests should be sent to support@whiskfile.com within 14 days of the charge. Refunds are processed to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days. No refunds are issued for partially used billing periods unless required by applicable law.

We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible. We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions.

We may modify or discontinue any feature with reasonable notice. If we discontinue a paid feature without replacement, we will provide a prorated refund for the affected period.

WhiskFile and its content (excluding your uploaded files) are owned by us or our licensors. The WhiskFile name, logo, and trademarks may not be used without written permission.

The underlying open-source tools we use (Ghostscript, Tesseract, LibreOffice, etc.) are used under their respective licenses.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that processed files will meet your expectations, or that the Service will be available at any particular time.

PDF processing is inherently imperfect for complex documents. We do not guarantee conversion accuracy, OCR accuracy, or formatting fidelity. Always verify important documents after processing.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WhiskFile is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, lost profits, or damage to business operations.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WhiskFile and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your violation of any third-party rights through use of the Service, or (c) files you upload.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
